Return and Refund Policy

At LivingTopia, we understand that not every purchase may match your expectations. That’s why we offer hassle-free 30-day returns. This is in addition to your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and Fair Trading Act 1986 (discussed below) to ensure you can shop with peace of mind.

Return Requires

Subject to the “Defective Products” clause, any products you return must be suitable for resale. This means the product must be in its original unused condition, with all specifications, packaging, accessories, guarantees, instructions, and accompanied by the invoice and packing slip. A product cannot be returned if it has been modified, damaged, altered, or used.

  • Products must be returned and inspected before any store credit will be granted.
  • You are responsible for the cost of returning the product to us.
  • Store credit will be issued to the original purchaser.

If a product is returned that does not meet the above criteria:

  • The product will be returned to you at your expense and upon your payment of further shipping fees.
  • If we are not provided with further shipping fees and a return shipping address, the product will be disposed of 30 days after receipt.

Return Process

To return an item, please email customer service at contactus@livingtopia.co.nz to discuss your return, ensuring that you provide us with the following information:

  • Order number,
  • Order name, and
  • Order address.

Once we have confirmed your return, please send your items with a note explaining the situation and your order details, such as the Order Number, name, and address. This will help us process your refund request quickly.

Please note that you will be responsible for all return shipping charges. 

If a return is sent without tracking and goes missing, we are not responsible for it, and you may not be eligible for a refund. We highly recommend using a tracked service to send your returns. 

Return Shipping Charges

You are responsible for any return shipping charges. We strongly recommend using a trackable shipping method for your convenience and to ensure a smooth return process.

Defective Products

We work hard to ensure that our standards are met. However, should you have an issue with a product, we are happy to honor our obligations under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and Fair Trading Act 1986. These obligations are in addition to our returns policy (discussed above).

Exchanges

  • If you wish to exchange an item for something else, return the original following the outlined return process. Once your return is received and accepted, we can proceed with the exchange for the new item.
  • Only one exchange can be made with each purchased item
  • Items must be in their original packaging with a tag on it
  • Damaged items are not eligible for an exchange
  • Exchanges can be made within 30 business days after receipt of the item. NO RETURNS OR EXCHANGES AFTER 30 DAYS OF ITEM RECEIPT.

Consumer Guarantees Act 1993

The Consumer Guarantees Act sets out minimum standards for the products we sell. We may repair, replace, or refund any product in accordance with the Act if that product is faulty or otherwise fails to meet the standards imposed by the Act.

Fair Trading Act 1986

The Fair Trading Act is designed to protect customers from being misled, either intentionally or unintentionally. This applies to all aspects of the promotion and sale of goods and services, including pricing, product origin, meeting New Zealand safety standards, product availability in-store, and the sales techniques used.

Returning Defective Products

  • Products must be returned and inspected with proof of purchase before we will provide any repair, replacement, or refund.
  • Subject to the provisions of the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986, we may repair, replace, or refund any product that does not meet the standards set out in those Acts.
  • Any refund will be credited to the card used to purchase the product. Or a store credit will be applied when needed.

Refunds

After receiving your return and inspecting the condition of your item, we will process your return or exchange. Please allow at least five (5) days from receiving your item to process your return or exchange. We will notify you by email when your return has been processed.

Please Note 

A 10% restocking fee will be charged for all returns.
